Exciting News! (Late announcement...)

I'm going to be in a book!

Last winter, I found out that my favorite blog, www.apartmenttherapy.com, was having an open call for submissions to be in their next book about small spaces. I submitted my photos, and I was selected! A couple weeks later, the founder of Apartment Therapy and a 4 person crew packed into my house to professionally photograph my tiny little room. I'm super excited to see the final product, which comes out next spring. I'll keep you guys updated!

I have about 9 square feet of floor space in my room for walking. Needless to say, it was a very very tight squeeze.

April 2010!

AT LAST! Project Runway 6.

After many, many, many months, Project Runway 6 finally aired on its new network, Lifetime. I found it much easier to create the sets in LA, despite the new city, new network, new company, and new school. Props to the AWESOME art crew. Don't forget to tune in on Thursdays at 10pm. :)

The apartments this season were these amazing, historic downtown lofts. The building used to be the headquarters for a Spanish language newspaper, La Opinion. I was so used to working out of the tiny apartments at Atlas, NY, so the size of these units were a nice change.

Models of the Runway, Season 1

This season, Lifetime decided to do a spin off show about the models on Project Runway. Their apartment was on the top floor of the loft building. There were 4 levels, and the top one was in what looked like a brick bell tower.

There was a roof top lap pool overlooking the city.

Blogging Berlin!

I'd been itching to travel for months, so I finally decided to do something about it. Airfare has been dropping like crazy. I saw $170 round trip to Vegas and $320 to Paris, so I figured I'd just go wherever is cheap. Robin (roomie) came home one day and declared that she and Gayleem were taking an impromptu trip to Berlin, so I decided to join them. $440 RT to Germany?!Sure why not...

Knowing me, of course it's fitting that I begin blogging with an excessive number of glamour shots of the apartment we stayed in. Found it on Craigslist Vacation Rentals! Only 20 Euros/night for each of us. The apartment was like a palace by NYC standards. A palace that smelled like fresh laundry all the time. I am still seething with house envy.

This was the room that I stayed in. We all slept like rocks. I think futons are magical.

An charming little picnic basketesque breakfast nook in the kitchen?! My brain was practically exploding from the adorableness of it all.
